A Day in the Life of a SuRaksha Family

The day begins early.

Before the sun is fully up, the mother is already awake, preparing a simple meal, managing household chores, and checking on her husband, who has been bedridden for months.

There is no concept of “taking it slow.”The day doesn’t wait. The chores have to be done.

The child gets ready for school, often quietly, sensing the stress at home. On some days, he leaves on time. On others, he stays back a little longer, helping, adjusting, understanding more than a child should.

Medicines have to be managed. Expenses have to be calculated. Every rupee has a purpose.

By afternoon, fatigue sets in, but responsibilities don’t end.

There are calls to make, things to arrange, small decisions that carry weight,  what to buy now, what can wait and what must somehow be managed.

Evening brings a brief pause.

Homework is done, sometimes with interruptions. Meals are simpler than they would like, but enough to get by. And then the night, quiet, but not restful.

Because tomorrow will look much the same.

This is not a story of helplessness. It is a story of strength, but strength should not have to carry everything alone.

At SuRaksha Parhit Foundation, when we step in, whether through ration support, medical help, or education assistance, we are not changing their entire lives. We are simply making one day a little easier and sometimes, that is where change begins. Because behind every case is a life being lived, one day at a time.
